About Us

Pak Everbright Development Organization (PEDO) is a non government, non for profit, non political, social welfare and development organization based in Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. PEDO was established by well known social development practitioners and human rights advocates from all corners of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in 2004. PEDO was registered in 2009 under Societies Act 1860. The organization is a widely recognized non-governmental organization that strives to improve the lives of under developed and vulnerable communities with special focus on women, youth and children in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pakistan. The organization started its activities from the grass root level and now it is working in the whole province and FATA.


PEDO Envisioned “a society where human rights are respected and protected based on social justice, peace and harmony in Pakistan”.


To  promote and protect human rights, governance, social justice , cultural and social harmony through innovative approaches to empower the voiceless and right holder including women, children,  disable and  minorities.

Social and community mobilization is the basic working strategy of PEDO to work with different communities. PEDO is working in different sectors such as awareness and advocacy, networking, capacity building of CBOs, CCBs, individuals, professionals, skill development, services provision (like basic health, education and drinking water supply) and women rights and development since 2007 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and FATA. PEDO has been working with different segments of communities such as men, women, teachers, doctors, nurses, youth in different sectors. All the communities have their own dynamics which required different tools and strategies for mobilization and working for development. PEDO has the required experience and skills to mobilize, sensitize and organize different communities for different kind of activities. There are different stages and tools for Community mobilization and organization, group formation and cluster establishment. PEDO has worked with the conservative societies such as in FATA and has the experience, skills, and capacity to mobilize, sensitize and organize different communities especially women community for development activities. Currently PEDO has formed and registered Minority women CCBs in District Peshawar and Chitral and has built up their capacities. They now exist as partner registered women organization of PEDO. PEDO has formed CCBs, village development organizations, parent teacher councils and health committees and also worked on their capacity building and networking. Currently PEDO is mobilizing and organizing Pakistani and Afghan refugee youth communities and equip them with different skills, to ensure their effective and constructive contribution to restore peace in the region.
